Barbara Grabski was born in Bochum in 1977.
She studied for an M.A. degree in Romance Studies, Political Science and Geography in Bochum, Germany, and Tours, France, and for a DEA (Masters) in Linguistics (focusing on computer linguistics) in Paris.
Between 2000 and 2006 she lived, studied and worked in France, during which time she completed an internship and student research project with a French car manufacturer, and gained work experience with a manufacturer of translation software and in the Paris branch office of a German company.
She has worked in Berlin as a freelance translator since 2006, and has an academic interest in the latest developments in translation technologies.
Dorte Huneke was born in Cologne in 1975.
She has worked at the Bonn and Berlin offices of London-based newspaper "The Times". While still at university, she completed internships both in Germany and abroad (including at "The Times" in London, "Radyo Metropol FM" and "Der Tagesspiegel" in Berlin).
Dorte Huneke has worked as a freelance author for daily newspapers, magazines and newsletters published in German and English since 2001; she has also translated books, newspaper articles and technical papers.
She is a member of the German Journalists' Association (DJV) and "Freischreiber", the German professional association of freelance journalists.
She has worked from two desks since 2007: one in Berlin and another in Istanbul.
